Terms & Conditions

Last updated: May 2026

1. Service Agreement

By booking with Cornwall Mowing, you enter into a service contract directly with Cornwall Mowing. We are responsible for the quality and delivery of every lawn cut. Cornwall Mowing carries £2 million public liability insurance and follows industry best practice for safe operation of grounds maintenance equipment.

2. Pricing

All prices are displayed on our website and are fixed based on lawn size. Prices include VAT where applicable. The following additional charges may apply:

  • Cuttings removal: +£15 per visit
  • First cut surcharge (long grass over 4 weeks growth): +£20 one-off
  • Edging: +£12 per visit
  • Extra strimming around obstacles: +£10 per visit

We reserve the right to update prices with 30 days' written notice to subscription customers.

3. Bookings & Scheduling

Bookings are confirmed via email or message. We will provide a morning or afternoon time window. In the event of severe weather, we will reschedule to the next available dry day at no additional cost.

4. Subscription Terms

Subscriptions run from March to October (16 fortnightly cuts). For subscription plans, payment is taken automatically each month by card on the 1st of each month. Subscription customers receive 15% off the standard one-off lawn cut price. Subscriptions can be cancelled with 14 days' notice at any time. No cancellation fees apply. Refunds for unused cuts within the current month will be calculated pro rata.

5. Cancellations

One-off cuts may be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice at no charge. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a 50% cancellation fee.

6. Access & Safety

You agree to provide safe access to your lawn on the agreed date. Please ensure gates are unlocked and any hazards (toys, garden furniture, pet waste) are cleared from the lawn area. Cornwall Mowing is not liable for damage caused by hidden objects in the grass.

7. Liability & Insurance

Cornwall Mowing carries £2 million public liability insurance. We will make good any damage caused by our negligence during the course of our work. Any claims must be reported within 48 hours of the service visit.

8. Payment

For one-off lawn cuts, payment is due once the lawn cut has been completed. Customers may pay by card, cash, bank transfer, invoice, or another agreed payment method. For subscription plans, payment is taken automatically each month by card.

9. Complaints

If you're not happy with any aspect of our service, please contact us within 48 hours at [email protected]. We take all feedback seriously and will work to resolve any issues promptly.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Conditions of service

By booking with Cornwall Mowing, you agree to the following conditions, which exist to protect both you and our team:

1. Lawn condition

The lawn must be cleared of debris, toys, dog mess, garden tools, and obstacles before our arrival. We will not pick up dog mess and reserve the right to skip areas of the lawn that are unsafe to mow due to obstacles or animal waste. The full booking fee will still apply.

2. Pets

Pets must be kept indoors or in a separate area during our visit, for their safety and ours.

3. Grass length

Our standard service covers lawns up to 30cm (one foot) in length. Lawns over this height require a ‘first cut’ surcharge of £20 OR may need a full site assessment if particularly overgrown. If you're unsure, please contact us before booking.

4. Steep slopes and difficult terrain

We reserve the right to decline jobs involving steep slopes, banks, or terrain we deem unsafe. In these cases, we'll cancel the booking and you won't be charged.

5. Weather

We can usually cut in light rain, but heavy rain or genuinely waterlogged ground will require rescheduling at no extra cost.

6. Access

It is your responsibility to ensure we can access the lawn (open gate, code, key safe, etc.). If we arrive and cannot access the property, the full booking fee will apply.

7. Right to refuse service

If on arrival we determine the lawn is unsafe, in significantly worse condition than described, or otherwise unsuitable for our standard service, we will contact you to discuss. You may be charged a £25 callout fee for the wasted journey, but we'll always try to find a fair solution first.

8. Payment

For one-off lawn cuts, payment is due once the lawn cut has been completed. Customers may pay by card, cash, bank transfer, invoice, or another agreed payment method. For subscription plans, payment is taken automatically each month by card.
